Apple has opened applications for its Vision Pro developer kit, ahead of the planned 2024 launch of its $3,499 headset. The developer kit allows selected developers to use the actual hardware to build and fine-tune apps for the headset. However, the device is a loan and will remain Apple property, with strict confidentiality agreements in place. Apple is prioritizing app makers who want to take advantage of the new hardware's capabilities, rather than porting existing iPad apps to the device.
